Copyediting
Will my manuscript be copyedited ?
Copyediting is the first step with every project. After assessment of the manuscript, it will be assigned to a suitable copy editor from Virtus’s pool of professional and certified resources. The editor will focus on correcting grammar, spelling, and overall consistency. Our editors will follow the author’s voice, which means your book will reflect your voice. Subjective, unnecessary changes will not be made: Your book will express your intended message.
Interior Design
How will my manuscript be formatted ?
Your manuscript will be formatted into professional book pages using Adobe InDesign. You can choose one of our standard templates suitable for your book. Options to customize the interior of your book are also available. Talk to a Virtus representative to discuss your interior design options.
Image sourcing and creation
Can you find or create images for me ?
During production of your book, Virtus can either source or create images to complement your text. Sourcing can include photos and image creation can include diagrams, figures, or tables that help to tell your story. Talk to a Virtus representative to find out more.
Author Corrections
Can I make corrections to my page proofs ?
All authors receive page proofs electronically in PDF format and will have the opportunity to request minor corrections, updates, or other changes.
Proofreading
Will the page proofs for my book be proofread ?
All packages include proofreading. A professional, certified proofreader will perform a word-for-word proofread of your page proofs against your copyedited manuscript, to ensure that books pages match the manuscript.
Cover Design
How will my cover be created ?
Based on your consultation with Virtus staff, a cover concept will be developed and you will be provided with up to three different versions from which to choose. All covers will be created in Adobe InDesign. Cover customization is also available as an optional service.
ISBN registration
Will my book get an ISBN ?
Virtus will provide an ISBN number for the copyright page and back cover, plus a barcode for the back cover. The copyright page will also include PCIP data, which will be prepared specifically for your book, for access by bookstores and libraries.
Copyright
Who will hold the copyright for my book ?
With Virtus, the copyright is held by the author. You will retain all rights to the intellectual property (the content). With Virtus, your book can be sold on any platform or in any store you choose. This is not always the case with other publishers or distributors.
eBook
Can I get an eBook ?
Depending on the package you select (or as an additional service), our digital team can create an accessible eBook in ePub format, which will be compatible with e-readers, smartphones, tablets, and computers, and ready for sale in reputable online eBook retailers.
Accessibility
Will my eBook conform with current accessibility requirements ?
Virtus adheres to all digital accessibility standards and requirements in the United States and Europe for your eBook.
Audio book
Can I get an audio book ?
Depending on the package you select (or as an additional service), Virtus can create an AI audio book, using the latest technology and tools.

Book marketing
Can Virtus provide marketing services ?
Virtus can provide different levels of marketing services based on your own expertise and your needs.
For those wanting a hands-on approach, Virtus’s marketing specialists can provide customized marketing training materials to guide you in terms of a self-managed marketing campaign strategy.
As an additional service, Virtus can manage and execute a plan that can include the creation of Amazon and social media ads and earned digital media outreach. This level of service is equivalent to marketing strategies employed by publishers.
